How to Check between REAL pearls and Artificial pearls???
1. ดูความวาวและเลื่อมสีที่เห็นได้ชัด ไข่มุกแท้จะมีความแข็งและความแวววาที่กินขาดจากไข่มุกเทียม ซึ่งทำมาจากวัสดุที่ด้อยค่ากว่า บางทีเป็นแค่พลาสติกหุ้มสีวาวๆเท่านั้น

2. ผิวของไข่มุกธรรมชาติ เมื่อใช้กล้องขยายขนาดกำลัง 10 เท่าส่องดู จะเห็นว่าผิวของไข่มุกมีริ้วรอยขรุขระเล็ก ๆ ให้เห็นไม่เรียบกริบอย่างพลาสติก เมื่อทดลองนำไปสีกับฟันดูก็จะรู้สึกว่า ผิวไข่มุกมีความสากเล็กน้อยและไข่มุกจะไม่เป็นรอย ส่วนไข่มุกปลอมนั้น ผิวจะเรียบลื่นเป็นมันมากจนผิดปกติแม้ว่าจะใช้กล้องขยายส่องดูก็ตาม

3.ใช้ไข่มุกมาขัดถูกันเบาๆ (ขอย้ำว่าให้ถูเบาๆ มิฉะนั้นไข่มุกจะเกิดริ้วรอยได้) ถ้าหากว่ามีความรู้สึกหยาบๆ สากๆ แสดงว่าเป็นมุกแท้ เพราะความสากนั้นเกิดจากสารมุกที่เคลือบเป็นชั้นๆ นั่นเอง แต่ถ้านำมาถูกันแล้วรู้สึกลื่นๆ ก็ให้สันนิษฐานไว้ก่อนว่าเป็นมุกเทียม และเมื่อได้สัมผัสแล้ว มุกแท้จะมีความเย็นมากกว่ามุกเทียม
